The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal to increase the wage ceiling for mandatory coverage under Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) from INR 15,000 per month to INR 25,000 per month, as announced through the Press Information Bureau (PIB) press release dated 16 September 2026 (attached for your reference). The same was subsequently followed by a notification in the official gazette and a press release by EPFO on 17 September 2026 (also attached for reference). As per the said notification this change is effective from 17 September 2026.
